Performance Index Rating (PIR) is a Basketball statistic to measure a total performance metric. The Spanish ACB League created this Performance Index Rating in 1991 to identify the league’s MVP of the Week and regular-season MVP awards.

What is Performance Index Rating?
Different Euroleague basketball Companies such as the EuroLeague, the EuroCup, various European national domestic and regional leagues use this Performance Index Rating. The statistic is still enduring through the selection process is now done by voting.
The statistic is also a portion of the Tendex basketball rating system. This statistic includes various factors while evaluating, such as points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, fouls drawn, missed field goals, missed free throws, turnovers, shots rejected, fouls committed.
Critics argue that the metric is not perfect for total playtime and also stabilizes all factors instead of weighting them.
